Fireworks in Air..Make Air Filthy, Unhealthy....Morning of July 5

Hit this link..for the next few hours..see the red areas.

Please,...when you get to site. .hit....

Current AQI (third/or second box to right, depending on where you hit)

the site moves you to forcast, not current..(you need to see current, now, not the forcast)
...current is how the air is now..

http://www.airnow.gov/index.cfm?action=airnow.main#tabs-1

The red represents filthy unhealthy air..
Last night many cities had fireworks..
St Louis, Chicago, LA, Las Vegas.
The filth is still in the air.
Many people are affected by this..

This will probably be gone by noon..
For your information ..

unless you were to walk along the beaches of West Central Florida near St Petersburg this morning.

They'll be dirty diapers, empty beer and soda cans, food wrappers, towels and all the other assorted sundries of our advanced country.

Many within 10 feet of a trash can which of course will be overflowing.

Filmed what the Ft. Myers Beach looked like today. Will take crews hours to clean it all up. When we used to go to see the Fireworks, we always brought our own big trash bag, and just dumped it into the dumpster on way to car. No big deal really to do that.

to sleep before the stuff got really started and woke up in the night telling my husband I couldn't breathe. And I don't generally have breathing problems. The noise and now this issue really makes me want to find a hotel in the middle of nowhere next year and escape for a few days.

That site...AirNow.gov is an incredible site.
Air quality all over the country. Participation is up to individual states since some matching funds from states are required. Some states have multiple sites and readings. California has the most of any. As someone pointed out, it is animated so one can see the development and movement of some problems. Also, we can see how the pollution dissipates over time. I have followed it for awhile. It is fascinating to see the variety of conditions in the U.S.A...from the very best to the very dirty...

I was responsible for most of it.

Needless to say, I was out on the street at 7:00 am with a hangover and a broom.

http://www.airnow.gov/index.cfm?action=airnow.local_city&mapcenter=0&cityid=50

look to the lower right to see the number 297

if you go to the home site AirNow.gov....be sure to click on current AQI)

http://www.airnow.gov/index.cfm?action=airnow.main

Lower the screen a little and you will see three boxes.

Today's Forcast....Tomorrows Forcast.....Current AQI.. hit the last one.

..you will see that for now, this is the worst..hopefully in the afternoon, the wind will pick up from the lake, and blow it away...hopefully

(added later, at 10:30am central time, the wind has picked and helped to lessen the pollution..for that I am grateful. Stuart.)

Here in Ohio, the local weather service has been posting the smoke trails from the Canadian wildfires and how they effect our area. I think that really affected the readings this week.
