Donald Trump: I didn't expect business backlash to be "quite this severe"

News flash for this moron: I don't think it's over yet.

"On the heels of several major corporations distancing themselves from Donald Trump's various business interests, the Republican presidential candidate admitted Saturday that he didn't think the corporate backlash to his inflammatory comments about Mexican immigrants would be "quite this severe."

"I knew it was going to be bad because I was told this. All my life I have been told this: If you are successful, you don't run for office," Trump said in an interview on Fox News, addressing the recent spate of businesses that have severed their relationships with his brand. "I didn't know it was going to be quite this severe, but I really knew it was going to be bad."

<snip>

These political reprimands might seem par for the course to Trump, but criticism from his business partners seems more unexpected. On Fox News, Trump also said that he was "very surprised" at NASCAR, which recently said it would move a series of banquets and conferences -- previously scheduled to be held at the Trump National Doral Miami resort -- to a different location.

"Because I have so many fans at NASCAR. I love the NASCAR people. I'm really surprised with NASCAR to be honest with you," Trump said. "You know, I have properties in the best locations. The property you are talking about in the case of NASCAR is Trump National Doral, which is probably one of the top resorts in the world. If they don't go, somebody else does, so, you know, it's not a big deal."

All in all, Trump said, his presidential run so far has been "bad for my brand." <------

by saying he expected the backlash.

I wonder if we'll see a letter from his lawyer as good as the one to Bill Maher about him looking like an orangutan. That was priceless!!!

Now, let me catch you up on how all this got started. During the last week of the presidential campaign last year, Donald Trump — who previously had been a one-issue candidate obsessed with Obama's birth certificate — announced that he would give $5 million dollars to charity if Obama produced his college records. Because a black guy getting into college? Something fishy there.

So playing on the fact that the only other thing in nature with the same color hair as Trump's is the orange-haired orangutan, (audience laughter) I joked that Donald trump needed to show me his papers to prove he wasn't hiding a bad secret about his birth. This is known as parody. And it's a form of something we in the comedy business call a joke.

Naturally, I also aped — if you will — Trump's offer of money to a charity of his choosing, which I identified as the Hair Club for Men. Really, we're going to court about this? Well, this upset the Donald so much they could barely get him to stop flinging his feces. (wild audience laughter and applause)

Now public figures, of course, don't like everything that's said about them. But that's how we roll here in America. Just like we're the gun country, we're the joke country. We love our free speech, and we love celebrities getting taken down a peg. So Don, just suck it up like everybody else. (audience cheering and applause)

But no, not Trump. His lawyer sent me a letter — I shit you not, this is real — his lawyer sent me a letter that said, and I quote:

Attached hereto is a copy of Mr. Trump's birth certificate, demonstrating that he is the son of Fred Trump, and not an orangutan
.

I wonder if they have done studies and discovered their fan base is more leftist than they thought? Or they are aware of the demographic changes coming, and are positioning themselves to attact more minorities and young people so to stay vialble in the future.

as himself would have the forethought to realize offending the Latino community (or any minority) would have far reaching implications. He's an egotistical idiot and a bully, and has no business being in the public arena for anything. The man has no filter, thinks he can say whatever he wants and everyone will be mesmerized by him.

I give his campaign another month or 2 or at least until he has to provide financial records and he'll be gone.
