(1,827 posts)The top 1% includes both people who earn an income and, at the tippy top, the trust fund babies who neither toil nor spin.
"Income" implies a salary, but my guess is that the biggest money hogs are the 0.01% (1/100 of a percent) whose "income" is from interest and investments and who don't actually work. They are the people who need to be brought down.

That top 1% includes people like college presidents who are making 400K, but who can lose their jobs in a heartbeat if they don't bring enough money in or if, (Penn State), some coach molests kids on your watch. The tippy top are the billionaires with their own personal fortunes.
The bottom 2/3 of the top 1% have more in common with you and me than they do with the billionaires and trust fund babies.
