Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
It is thought most likely to have been one of three things:
military drone
remote control model aircraft
large bird
Apparently it is not thought to have been an alien spacecraft. Yay.

I vote for large bird. The market for large birds is down anyway.

(12,154 posts)My husband flies all sizes and types of remote control model airplanes, and he's never heard of any rc plane flying at 8000 feet, which is the altitude the airliner pilot said he was flying when he almost collided with the object.

(12,154 posts)Channel 9 News Denver reported on the evening news tonight that the object is thought to have been a weather balloon because one was found down in the area.
Case closed.
