Bewildering, shocking, amazing, startling, and sometimes damned worrisome.
But mostly amazing.

You make it sound phony. She is real and so is the story of her life. I dug into it.

They were not wild animals. And using indigenous people as props in photos is disgusting.

And they weren't wild animals. They were tame and used to humans.

It's an amazing story of an amazing girl. And yes, she was "used" in the photos, and sometimes it was "work". But what is the amazing element of the story is her relationships of mutual trust with some very dangerous animals. That is real and should not be trivialized.

Unless they got a cut of the profits.
Those photos are as real as the editorial shots in Vogue magazine.
BTW, aren't there child labor laws? They literally "worked" their toddler for those photographs.

(23,272 posts)8. Thanks! I didn't see that anywhere in the article. I had to look her up
to see what she was doing now... Sounds like she's grown into a fascinating young woman.
Thanks for the heads up!

The natives apparently not being worth socializing with.

(2,150 posts)12. Of course she socialized with the natives. There are countless pictures on various
websites of her life among them. If you checked out the links, and even all of the pictures at my single link, you can see that.
You're putting a "spin" on her life that is not accurate. Does the name "spinbaby" have some special significance?
