Today in Buckhead (Georgia)

[center]My cousin and his husband have been together 40 years. They got married 2 years ago in Vermont and reaffirmed their vows in their home state this morning. They're in the video and they both look so happy. I was thrilled for them and so happy to see them in the news, so all the world can share in their love.

How beautiful and inspirational. I moved from the Atlanta area almost 20 years ago, but then Buckhead was the home of Atlanta's wealthiest, and it was a solidly republican area. How delicious to have this joyous celebration there!

I am so happy for your cousin and all the couples here who are now out of the darkness and into the light.

Thanks, brer cat!

There was food and drink from all over (neighboring states, as well) for everyone attending. It was just one huge celebration of love and diversity.

The New South will take the place of ignorance and hate. Many areas of Atlanta are young, vibrant, enlightened places where rednecks would be the odd man out.

Time I'm mature and experienced enough to appreciate it. Of course this change wasn't as blood-soaked as the last.

If you could have heard the elation in my cousin's voice. In both of their voices. Their happiness and excitement was bursting through the phone.

Now that is truly something to celebrate. Imagine all the weddings that took place wherever are now legal everywhere. A happy day for you too, Solly Mack.

My pastor discussed it yesterday. It was an awesome sermon. About how the central church hasn't changed yet. But God knows this is happening, and it isn't up to us to represent God's opinion on the matter. And as I watch them on that video, what I felt as happiness for others became elation and joy. And I can't help but think God is pleased that the legal bigotry has ended and Love has won over hate and fear.
It's Monday morning and I'm still married (over 20 years).
