...this bullshit about "fill-in-the-blank" being against someone's religion so he/she/it wants a legal time out to disobey the law.
They want freedom TO religion by disallowing freedom FROM religion to those who are not lock-stepped with them.
Give me a break...

Folks, religion belongs in your church, your home, and your heart. There is nowhere else that is appropriate for it in a pluralistic society.
People are always going to object when you try to push your personal god where he doesn't belong.

(21,054 posts)Seems to me that the RR only sees freedom for views which echo their exact beliefs...no matter what equality requires.
Edit for typo.

(16,254 posts)I have friends who post religious sayings, photos and dialogue ad nauseum. I'm waiting for one to ask why I never "like" their religious posts and I'll simply tell them that I don't think Facebook is the place to post such items. Sacrilegious.
My beliefs are my private feelings and I feel secure enough in them that I don't need to post every time I pray or go to church. I am sick to death of these posts but don't dare block them. They'll send me to hell, sure as shootin'.

because it's the place to go if you're a right winger who needs to parrot all the crap s/he has heard on radio and cable TV.
I always wonder who the sanctimonious are trying to convince of their righteousness--us or themselves?

(16,254 posts)After the SCOTUS decision on marriage, those people were unusually silent. I thought that was odd, but then a bulb lit in my brain and I realized that they were actually hunting for words to say that would put them to the edge, but not over, when voicing their disdain. Then, they fired away.
I DID find a couple sources of statements I could have exposed them on, but I decided to take the high road and let them get it out of their system. They will come around when they realize they are on the wrong road, but it's not going to be soon and it's not going to be pleasant.

(111,339 posts)Already the fools realize that the sky hasn't erupted with divine lightning over the USSC. Eventually they'll find out that someone they do business with has a same sex spouse and has been married for months and nothing in their own lives changed because of it.
At that point, you can throw some of the cold water of reason at them to cool them off and it will have some effect. Do it now and it just turns into more steam.
I just hope that happens before November 2016.
