Dr. King was a man who fought to make America a better place for all. He epitomizes everything right with America. AND HE WAS A SOUTHERNER! Can there be a better symbol for Southern Pride and Heritage than him?
I DON'T THINK SO!!!
There are many things we as southerners have to be proud about, things that have no connection to hate and racism. Why not make a flag based on one of those things?
The fact that the bigots insist on using a flag FOREVER associated with hate and bigotry rather than making a new one celebrating the positive parts of southern culture PROVE the battle for the confederate flag is about racism plain and simple!
IT IS TIME TO TAKE DOWN THE SYMBOLS OF HATE! IT'S TIME FOR THE CONFEDERATE FLAGS TO GO DOWN NATION WIDE!

(135,425 posts)You know that anyone sporting it, on their clothing, their vehicles, or flown from their homes, is an asshole.
And they aren't just an "everyday asshole," they are a MAJOR asshole!
How nice that these assholes label themselves, so we can identify them at a bit of a distance!

(112,421 posts)There is one house in Wharton that flies the Confederate flag and I'm curious if they have removed that symbol of hate from the flag pole in the yard. Considering that it is 56% white and 26% African-American, it seems pretty bold to display it so prominently.
