Supposedly very high IQ but very unread and opinionated. Knowing him, he read something or looked up something from Google he disagreed with and it caused uncomfortable cognitive dissonance. Says you can't believe what's on the internet; but is glued to TV news.

Whatever results you personally get, remember that Google keeps track of what you use it for (for instance, the 'site search' facility on DU), and pushes up the results for sites that you have chosen results from. So, if what you're saying is "DU is at the top of the results", then it's not that surprising, for you. If you've done this on a 'clean' computer, then the results may be interesting.

For me, the only DU page that appears in the first page of Google results is this thread - because the phrase is in the title, and Google also favours words in page titles rather than in the body. I also get a MediaMatters story about Fox calling Politico a 'left wing website', and the rest is also mainly right wing sites denouncing other sites as 'left wing websites'.
