Fox affiliate KTVU in SF Bay Area cancels live coverage of Sunday's pride parade

Source: SFist

Expecting nudity, foul language, and at the very least a lot of jockstraps and bare asses, the general manager of local Fox affiliate KTVU has pulled the plug on its live coverage of this year's LGBT Pride parade on Sunday. Rich Lieberman just blogged about this development, saying that a source told him that GM Greg Kelly "wanted no part of the parade," at least insofar as they were planning to have a live stream of it on the web.

Expect more of this crap as time goes on. The leading newscast in the Bay Area is about to morph into a right-wing screed.

edit: And note the timing. Not even Fox could suddenly realize the possibility of nudity two days before Pride.

They had been a very, very good local affiliate until then. Movies like "Milk" use clips of their news coverage.

Remember the fake pilot names in the Korean airline crash at SFO?

http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/matier-ross/article/KTVU-producers-fired-over-Asiana-pilots-fake-4685627.php

"Sum Ting Wong, Wi Tu Lo, Ho Lee Fuk, and Bang Ding Ow"

When we first got the dish out here we used to get the Channel 2 news and it was far superior to anything else on TV. Besides it came on at 10PM an hour ahead of all the other stations.

We don't get it anymore but it doesn't seem like they have kept up the same high standards.
