Sweet Jesus...Why The Hell is our media so obsessed with the Escaped Killers?

I mean really, The same loops will now permeate our airways every 45 seconds, Klint Vant Zant or whatever the hell his name is and other so called crime experts will be interviewed for the next 5 hrs, giving us info that each one of us could assume as well.. The whole freaking thing is a mess and a waste of time, except for the fact that warnings of there whereabouts are important for the locals..

In the end I must assume that MSM thinks we are a country of idiots who are titillated by crime..especially when it’s live.. I wonder if Ads.. become more expensive to run during these events.

and escaped convicts do concern me. No doubt they concern others of us who don't live in condos. apartments or gated communities. Believe me, if someone escapes from a prison near you...you will be interested.

Plus, escaped convict stories are pure Americana.

I suggest these for your viewing pleasure: Cool Hand Luke, Con Air, Escape From Alcatraz, Papillion, Shawshank Redemption.

Do you know that violent crime is down extensively from the good ole days of the 50s..Its the media covering every damn crime story every damn hr. every damn day.. Fear, Fear, Fear.. Republican politicians thrive on fear.. Look at freaking Trump.

and people are also rubberneckers, TV watchers, etc., but don't you think this is important from a crime standpoint? You even said that locals should be concerned. What if these killers, like the ones in New York, cross state lines? What if they travel hundreds of miles? Then, that area becomes the local area and everyone is in potential danger. The media can be quite vapid and low, but reporting on practical matters of crime where people are in danger is one area where they do have it right.

The chances are slim that because one lives in N.Y. State they might be considered in danger.. Believe me if you do live in N.Y. you probably have a better chance being hit by a car than meeting up with these 2.. Fear, Fear Fear...We are fed a steady diet of fear everyday 24/7...

The closer a news story is to or affects Manhattan (The Center of the Universe (tm)) the more coverage it gets. That's why the MSM - including Maddow, unfortunately - fixates on things like escaped killers, bridge scandals, and the bloviating Trump bid for publicity.

Um, let me take this more slowly for you.

I was annoyed because I could not find coverage of the terrorist attacks in Tunisia. I was annoyed because I could not find coverage of the latest SCOTUS ruling.

The funeral, and its coverage were on for quite some time.

Go find someone else to fight with.

when just six huge conglomerates bought it all up, from films to TV to radio to newspapers. Once it was all nicely consolidated away from any independence of thought, they started to move from one Shiny Thing to another.

If we didn't have one more garden variety murderer on the loose in the woods, they'd probably be blabbing endlessly about some chicken brained Kardashian.

They're fucking useless. Just turn them off. I did.

the national media tends to glom onto one story and cover it constantly, ignoring almost everything else happening in the world. I felt the same way about that lady with the NAACP who pretended to be black. It was interesting to me for a couple of hours but not for day-after-day-after-day. This is not true journalism to me.

If there's one thing I dislike about TV news, it's the tendency to milk one major story. I'm not interested in hearing about the same stories repeatedly.
