But I caution everyone to not get complacent. Here on DU some will post the mantra that regardless of the overall polity of a candidate the Supreme Court is paramount. I never visit REEEEDDDD sites on purpose but I will lay odds of 9 to 1 that they are thinking the same thing. The RWNJs and RWRNJs will be crowding the polls to get their justice nomineer in the White House. These 2 decision will galvanize them to action. If history is a judge we are in danger of becoming smug and lazy, snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory.

(3,290 posts)who are the haters will be anxious to get to the polls to try and overturn all the progress that has been made.
We Democrats have to have a very aggressive campaign no matter who the nominee is and our people MUST VOTE as you know theirs surely will as you stated. The naming of another fundamentalist conservative or possibly two to the supreme court would be the death knell for all the advancements made in the last few years. With both houses of congress in republican hands they could nominate the most right wing cretin in the country and get him seated on the court.
