Was talking to a colleague today and he made a very good point

We were talking about Charleston and he said something very profound.

He said why is it that pro-gun folks always reply to the gun control argument with the standard "guns don't kill people, people do" but then they profess the idea that they need their gun to protect their family?

We both agreed, that makes no sense at all. How can they not do one thing, but then do the other?

Is it just me, or is that some major doublespeak there?
