voting delegate.
Will your state give Bernie a hard time getting on the primary ballot.

(19,460 posts)We have closed primaries and it is either a Democrat or a Republican. You must be a registered Democrat or have run and won as a Democrat in the past and be polling nationally at 20%. Now, I am not saying that Kentucky won't change the rules and I hope they do but Bernie supporters should be aware that every state has its own rules. The DNC does not make the rules for each state and neither does the Clinton campaign.

(146,318 posts)becoming a national delegate. I can probably be a delegate to the state convention in MN, but no way could I get elected at that convention as a national delegate. Those elected will all be state Senate district an congressional district officers, at a minimum. State legislators have even higher priority. That's how it works. They're all front line DFL Party leaders.
It's the same in most states. The MN delegation will be for Hillary. I guarantee it. Hillary Clinton will also win the MN primary, going away. I love Bernie, but he's not going to win Minnesota. Not even close.
If he wins a single primary, I will be surprised. Maybe Vermont. Maybe.
I'm sad to say that, but it's true. His national polling numbers are not showing a surge. Hillary's did though, as soon as Biden wasn't included. Clinton got his polling votes. Sanders stayed stationary.
I see no path to a Sanders nomination at this point. I'll still caucus for him in MN, but it won't matter. DU wants him, but that's no way enough. There's a whole party to deal with, and they're liking Clinton. That's the plain truth.
