Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announces he has cancer.

X-Posted from the Maryland group.

Gov. Larry Hogan announces he has an aggressive form of cancer of the lymph nodes.

The governor said there is a "very strong chance of success, beating it altogether and getting rid of the cancer."

"My odds of beating this are much, much better than my odds were at beating Anthony Brown," Hogan said.

"This latest challenge will require my attention and focus," Hogan said. "Fortunately, I'm blessed with a wonderful family."

No tears from me. When politicians policies contribute to the deaths of other, they deserve no sympathy.

you don't have to shed tears to know that sometimes, cancer trumps politics.

As a neighbor over here in NoVa, I feel like Marylanders are my neighbors. WE had McDonnell and now they have Hogan.

He said something interesting in his presser: he acknowledged that he has very good health care and then kinda waffled about the ACA — this might bring him around on the benefits of everyone having access to health insurance.

We'll see.

He is suffering from an aggressive and advanced stage of Lymphomic cancer. I wish that on no one. Stage three, possible stage four.

Let him change his policies which help kill others, and I'll have sympathy.
Sorry, but things are connected.

Can you point to one or two policies that this Governor has put into place that kills people?

Please keep in mind he has just taken office this year and has held no seat of any power in his life

I still cannot support your position on his illness, but I respect your defense of it.

Having worked in an outpatient cancer center in the early nineties, having seen its non-partisan destructiveness, having watched too many patients die from it (one in the waiting room) all I know is that it's a thing I wouldn't hope for or wish on anyone.

There is a type of HIV-related cancer that I didn't know about. My first, real introduction to AIDS was a patient whose significant other brought him in every day, and with such tender and gentle care, took care of him with more love than I've seen in any other couple. That was also my first non-fictional introduction to the gay community, and the absoluteness of that love changed my perspective forever more...

I don't care what side of the political spectrum you're on, I hate cancer with every fiber of my being.
