NIKKI HALEY TO SPEAK AMID CALLS TO TAKE DOWN CONFEDERATE FLAG

by Jeremy Diamond, CNN, Updated 1:17 PM ET, June 22, 2015

(CNN) South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley will address the public Monday afternoon amid growing calls for the state to remove the Confederate flag on the grounds of the State House.
Haley, a Republican and the state's first non-white governor will deliver remarks at 4 PM ET, her press secretary Chaney Adams confirmed in an email.
Local news outlets and a South Carolina politics blog reported Monday that Haley will call for the removal of the flag during the 4 PM news conference.
Activists and local politicians ratcheted up their calls in recent days to remove the flag in the wake of the murder of nine African Americans in a historic black church in Charleston, S.C. last week allegedly at the hands of avowed white supremacist Dylan Roof.

*Update, 2:00 PM, Senator Lindsey Graham will also address the public with Gov. Haley to calll for the removal of the flag at 4 PM a source familiar with the decision told CNN.

right?

If Haley wants on the VP shortlist she will suddenly grow a spine (do as she's told) and call for lawmakers to come together (dig their way out of this) to move the state forward.

All the corporate media will talk for days about her potential on the Republican ticket.

lineup for 4PM today according to news outlets. Nikki needed help or they told her to add him for whatever purpose. Her being on a ticket as VP is too disturbing to consider esp. since any tiny GOP star she had fizzled years ago. After all the decades, misery and public outcry officials will finally act to take down the evil, racist, hate flag in time to look better, they hope for the 2016 primary you're right.

most of whose highest aspirations are inside the Palmetto Bug State.

Haley and Graham may find their attempt to "turn a stumbling block into a stepping stone" will be an epic fail, and may jelp focus media attention on other racist government electoral policies in SC, that still may cause the RNC to move the SC primary to he back of the line:

Do they have a "Voter ID" law?

How many "early voting" days do they provide?

What are the average waiting times to vote in predominantly African-American precincts versus predominantly Caucasian precincts?

Does SC practice "felon disfranchisement"?

What are their incarceration rates, by race?

What are the proportions of African-American and Caucasian males of voting age who are barred from voting?

Why should SC have an outsize influence on the composition of Presidential tickets in 2016?

South Carolina is a state fond of lost causes. Maybe taking down the flag is not one of them. Maybe our rallies were not just "yet another flag rally," as many of us thought at the time.

And the 2016 primary for which they have to try to look good is coming up, so political strategy is in play of course. Take the GD disgraceful symbol down!

claims the flag will come down this summer. What it has taken to remove the vile symbol, the cost in terms of misery, violence and death is tragic. I have toured Savannah, St. Mary's off Cumberland Isl., Darien and Charleston. The natural beauty, people and two cities were amazing and enjoyable, albeit as a visitor.

“What lit the fire under this was the tragic death of my friend and his eight parishioners,” Mr. Brannon said. “It took my buddy’s death to get me to do this. I should feel ashamed of myself.”

That kind of self-awareness is a rarity on the right
