When someone says that the stars & bars is "a symbol of our heritage and history"

remind them that Auschwitz is part of the German heritage and history yet they don't celebrate it.

You might also quote Article 3 Section III of the Constitution to them and point out that the Confederacy was nothing more than treason. Lots to celebrate there, huh.

1. IMO, the best response:

"Your heritage and history of being losers."

They revere the flag out of pride. Attacking them head-on (ie. treason) reinforces this pride. Instead, damage their pride and the rest will fall.

3. Along the same lines

I was around some guys with a lot of Southern pride and one of them said, "The South is gonna do it again!" and I asked them exactly what the South was going to do again.

*crickets*

So I asked, "Get their asses kicked by the North again?"

(This was all said in the spirit of all of us were assholes ribbing each other)
