remind them that Auschwitz is part of the German heritage and history yet they don't celebrate it.
You might also quote Article 3 Section III of the Constitution to them and point out that the Confederacy was nothing more than treason. Lots to celebrate there, huh.

They revere the flag out of pride. Attacking them head-on (ie. treason) reinforces this pride. Instead, damage their pride and the rest will fall.
