For anyone who's interested, here's the start of the So. Cal. "Lake Fire" last week.

This was taken from the web cam on top of the restaurant at the top of the Snow Summit Ski Resort. If you look close you can see Highway 38 at about the 8 O'Clock portion of the picture. Jump to 1:35. It starts at 1:37, which is almost exactly 4:00 p.m. local. First is today's Fire Map that shows current and past burn areas. Lots of good information can be found at socalmountains.com which is our community website.

but the speed.

Dry fuels, and all that.

Here... from Cal Fire on conditions statewide. I also posted on California. I feel somebody will accuse me of things for quoting a state agency, but hey, I need the check on my watch.

Lots of sick trees up there by Wrightwood too, sorry to see it like that.

Lake Fire Update from the Forest Service as of 6pm: 17,050 acres, 19% contained, 1986 personnel on the fire. A total of 10 type 2 helicopters.
