WTF? NBC’s Chuck Todd airs ‘color-blind’ segment with all-black shooters to address Charleston massacre

Following the tragic deaths of nine black church-goers in Charleston at the hands of an alleged white supremacist, NBC host Chuck Todd featured a segment with only black murders who were regretful of using guns.

On Sunday’s edition of Meet the Press, Todd kicked off a discussion about gun control with a video of convicted murderers at Sing Sing Correctional Facility talking about how they wished they had never picked up a gun.

a blonde woman in texas was killed in her apartment on her birthday. following the article before comments was a frozen page about 9 people who killed their wives first 7 were black men and people of color. literally the first picture was a black male behind bars mug shot. Lead one to believe this was the murder who killed the white woman in her home on her birthday. I was literally sick all day. just disgusting disgraceful. It has happen on the Rachel show as well.

NBC is now responding to the call out of their racoism by saying in effect 'no, we are always racist. we have pre-edited racist segments that we use regardless of the reality or current events.' It is like NBC, the network that gives a regular platform to racists like Donald Trump and Pat Buchanon, is saying 'we ALWAYS use images of black men when talking about gun violence so we can't change or on-going narrative just because of a white supremacist massacre or two.'

In a statement, Todd said the footage had been complied earlier in the week before the shooting for a different segment on guns in America, and that he and his staff thought it was pertinent to the topic at hand.

“The original decision to air this segment was made before Wednesday’s massacre. However, the staff and I had an internal debate about whether to show it at all this week. When we discussed putting it off, that conversation centered around race and perception – not the conversation we wanted the segment to invoke,” teh statement read.
