A Father's Day message from Robert Reich

https://www.facebook.com/RBReich?fref=nf

I phoned my father, Ed Reich, this morning, to wish him a happy Father's Day. At 101 and 4 months, he soldiers on. He thanked me and wished me a happy Father's Day. I told him I'd be seeing his grandson, my elder son, this afternoon, along with my granddaughter, his great granddaughter. "That's wonderful," he said. "Bring them all over here." "But, Dad, you're in Florida and I'm in California," I explained. "That makes no sense," he said. "We should all be together."

He's right. I wish I could drop over to see him on a moment's notice, especially when he's so frail. I visit as often as I can, but that's not enough. Every moment we have together is precious. Happy Father's Day, Ed Reich. Happy Father's Day also to my elder son, who's a wonderful father to his daughter. And Happy Father's Day to all of you fathers, lucky enough to be with your children today.
