Is America ready for a Democratic Socialist??

The very word "socialist" has been used for mockery and derision for most of our lives. Republicans are licking their chops, in hopes that a "socialist" will be their opponent.

However, the young generations are not buying the old propaganda. They are looking for honesty and solutions. They could care less about labels. That is why Bernie Sanders is so popular.

Of course, a Democratic Socialist is not a "communist socialist". He is more in the line of a European or Scandinavian Democrat. That is why he is able to run as a "Democrat" and get the following that he does. The younger generations understand the difference.

Will Bernie win any of the Democratic primaries against the much-favored Hillary Clinton? I would not bet against him.

Our readiness is past the "use by" date, but we still have a chance to change minds and hearts.

If Americans can stop thinking in labels and listen to the message instead. Democratic Socialism is the only thing that can begin to turn things around and ultimately save this country. But people are going to have to hear the message and realize how it applies to their own futures and to future generations.

Enough with politicians that are bought by oligarchs!!!
If Bernie can get his message out ( with TV blackouts on him) he stands a strong chance of winning.

We don't need the same old thing repeated!

if, like all other candidates.....a majority of folks vote for him. Period.
Bernie is a very special candidate in that he isn't "fluffing our bunnies" for votes. He's using the Truth as the center of his campaign, as every candidate should be.

Because "we're" not used to "the truth"...it's intriguing, unusual, special and a HIGHLY sought quality in any candidate......
With Bernie on the trail...it has become much easier to filter BS from Truth.

After suffering through DECADES of BS from BOTH sides...of course he "seems too good to be true".
People are understandably cautious and suspicious...because Every damned time we had "HOPE"...we ended up getting screwed harder, more often and with ever growing vengeance from those who promised something Entirely different...without ever actually making a promise...we only thought those words meant something that was never truly implied. The creative and masterful gift of gab...they All train for and have become quite expert at delivering.

Is it possible that the American Electorate is suffering from "Political PTSD" and we don't recognize and trust that which we have longed for, for decades and decades as it is right before our eyes?????

Bernie's Record Proves he's real. No other candidate imo--can meet or exceed his ...Truth.....because it Is Our Reality.

Unlike most..I have been following Bernie for Years. He is not new to many. But his position and record on the issues that matters most to most of us....is always solidly and reliably Consistent.

running on any sort of "socialist" platform, not even a DSA kind. He's running as an old fashioned FDR Democrat. It's only in the warped universe of the RW media bubble that those issues and ideas championed by Sanders and FDR are considered "socialism". I think it's highly ironic that a LOT of the Third Way Democrats have totally bought into this RW meme of what "socialism" is.

As to your question, I think it depends on which Bozo in the Republican Clown Car winds up winning the nomination. Didn't I see a poll the other day where Bernie won a general election matchup against ANY of the Republicans? We'll just have to see how it plays out.

re. raising marginal tax rates on the wealthiest Americans.

Today's corporate media would have called Ike a "communist".

I just know that the platform he's running on is NOT a socialist one. The means of production remain in the hands of the owners and capitalism remains with just a few more fetters in place. IOW, FDR Democrat.
