Hillary Clinton Makes Strong Plea For Gun Control
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton made a stirring plea for "common-sense" gun control Saturday.
"The passing of days has not dulled the pain or shock of this crime," Clinton said, in her most extensive comments yet on the tragedy Wednesday that left nine dead in Charleston, S.C.
"As a mother, grandmother and fellow human being, my heart is bursting for the victims, a wounded community and a wounded church," she said in a passionate 30-minute address to American mayors gathered here.
"It makes no sense that bipartisan legislation fails in Congress despite overwhelming public support," Clinton said. "The politics on this position have been poisoned. I will not be afraid to fight for common-sense reforms … because of this senseless gun violence."
"How is it possible that we as a nation allow guns to fall into the hands of people whose hearts are filled with hate?" she said, voice rising. "We can have common-sense gun reforms that keep them out of the hands of criminals and the mentally unstable while not penalizing responsible gun owners," Clinton said to sustained applause. (Half of the audience of about 1,000 stood.)

is a just, equal race blind society. Ha! Just the dream of a foolish idealist who's ideals died many years ago. There's plenty of posts here that you can discern what is needed to rid america of it's internal enemies. Getting corporate, billionaire and bankers money out of the political system is THE start. Then we can have fair and just elections. Stopping all this race based RW gerrymandering is part of the solution. People have to step up and be counted. Stopping the racist from taking the vote from hundreds of thousands of americans based on race using the meme of "voter fraud". Voter fraud has been, until the recent RW voter fraud, very rare in this country, even with the 2000 RW PNAC theft of our Presidency and political system. Stopping vote theft by the RW is another solution. Something again I feel our Justice Department is lax on or too impotent because of RW political pressure to do any thing about it.
Voting the racist tea PARTY and Republicans(samethingreally)back into the swamps and rotted woodwork from whence they came. Would be difficult given that the number of racist in america is a huge voting bloc from them. Getting our allegedly liberal and progressive politicians to start addressing hate groups with a simple, sorry for the movie cliche, "we're not going to take it anymore" because my constituency IS getting mad as hell. Standing up to the RW congressional obstructionist thast are legislatively obstructing our view of the truth about RW hate in america. Addressing the size of those groups, their hateful virulence in wanting to rid america of it's minorities. They are not just "fringe groups' anymore. The SPLC will give you all the information you need there. Our Justice Department has to stop this tiptoeing around the white terrorism in this country against minorities. The FBI head said the other day, the Charleston killing were not a terrorist incident which is a perfect example of RW pressure on this administration and the Justice Department.
Our hitler is out there, waiting to come forward with jobs, a fair wage, a booming economy and a virulently racist, fascist political agenda for the american people. WE have to be aware enough to nip that person's agenda in the bud. Our general political apathy coupled with worry about money, homes, jobs, children, and the host of other demands now grinding on the american individual and family makes it a real danger that we won't recognize this person until it's too late. I'm not concerned too much about most of the passengers on the RW "clown bus" this political season, but awareness is going to be a key and demanding justice and fairness in the economy, politics and race, by huge numbers of decent americans just trying to get through each day, is another solution in answering the enemy within. Our real enemy is us I think.
I could expand on this, but no. Our enemy is our general apathy and the huge voting bloc of racists just waiting for their chance to stomp the liberal and progressives into the dust. A war has started, not the "race war" those dangerous clowns want, but a war for the minds and soul of decent americans. I just hope as I hobble to the line drawn in the sand, that others will be there in huge numbers to stand against the fascist hate machine barreling down on us.
