Exactly why is Donald Trump running for President?

I was just wondering, and ran through some explanations.

Craves attention? Heck, he gets so much attention I'm surprised he hasn't already become a hermit.

Money? No.

One word...

Ego.

He considers himself to be the smartest, most competent guy in the world, and thinks he can run the Presidency the way he's run his life and businesses.

It's the Dunning-Kroger effect, a belief in ones super-competency, when the person is really an idiot.

He hasn't filed the appropriate paperwork and never will as there is too much that needs to be disclosed. But I believe I read that he is allowed two 45 day extensions, so we might have three months of dealing with desperate cry for attention.

Yes, it is all about ego.

Oh, and I heard that his contract/renewal negotiations are in progress for The Apprentice so there's that. That sounds familiar... I think it may have been the same timing last time around.

An exec producer of Modern Family, Danny Zuker, loves to have Twitter fights with The Donald, I'll have to check in and see if they're going at it again.

He's still poking fun. They used to really have back and forths that were hilarious to read even though they weren't necessarily witty. It was just fun to see someone pick on Trump like that.

9. I'd like a Constitutional Amendment that jails you for declaring, but not filing.

It should name him personally and have the word ass in it at least ten times.

His announcement speech was just bizarre, as well as offensive. It was all about me, me, me. No vision for the country, no policies for improving the economy, and as for foreign policy well, can you just imagine him at a conference of world leaders? The mind boggles.

well not really I prefer small gatherings. But, I do love watching how many conservatives can fall all over themselves to prove how hateful the Republican party is.

might explain him. Having his name in huge gold letters all over the place seems to be less from ego than from some deep feeling of inferiority.

His father's life was one of unspectacular success while his has been one of spectacular failure. At the height of his "career" his only profitable property was the one hotel that he only owned 40% of. And yet, as every bit of his empire fell around him, he still bragged about his genius.

At one of his bankruptcies, he went to the family to borrow $500 million because he couldn't get it anywhere else. And then he bragged about how he pulled himself out of it. Finally, the banks imposed a financial manager on him to approve all expenditures and plans. I heard it was a retired CFO from General Electric (someone one who actually knew about managing money) and his job was to say "No, Donald, that's stupid" several times a day.

And yet this guy has absolutely no shame. No matter what happens, he is the grandest and most important thing on the planet.

The licensing deals that put his name on so many buildings will eventually be up, and when the names come down we'll realize that Trump built absolutely nothing lasting, but ruined so much.

and laugh all the way to the bank on the proceeds.

Meanwhile, we'll all be laughing at him.

But yes, that massive ego is pure Dunning-Kruger.

He bragged about his net worth in his announcement speech. He said he was worth $9 billion dollars. But, we will never know. He will drop out before he is required to make it public.

However, he will get to indulge himself a couple of times in the "debates" before that happens.

Of course he is also making the whole republican party look like morons, and that's always a good thing!
