Blessings of the SOLSTICE to all people of conscience, wherever you may be!

JOYOUS FIRST DAY OF SUMMER, to those of us in the northern hemisphere and COURAGE FOR THE COMING WINTER to those in the south.

GRATITUDE to our MOTHER EARTH for continuing her faithful journey, despite our shameful mistreatment of her.

Solstice Sunrise in a sacred place that our amazing ancestors so wisely erected over 5,000 years ago.

How our Mother makes the profusion of life possible:

Mankind celebrates the forces that give rise to life:

En god midsommarnatt til dig!

(A good mid-summer night to you!)

Here in the Rheinland, we don't have the midnight sun or the Grand Canyon to stare at (I take it the oboe is optional). It is also grey and unseasonably cold. But we are leaving soon to hear one of our favorite musicians tonight, and that adds much warmth.

Only a pale, washed out sun since this morning. Although, it seems to be gaining on the clouds right now. (16h) But, the day will be reeeaaaally long!

That's one thing I had to get used to after moving here. Such LONG days in summer and SHORT days in winter. I originally came from lower latitudes.

Have never seen the Midnight Sun, but would love to. Some of my ancestors came from Sweden--in fact, my grandmother was born there.
