I know there is a massive gun lobby and plenty of money is passed around, but I don't think that is all of it.
I am convinced they don't act on gun control because the people getting killed are not people they care about. They are perfectly happy to see attrition by gun. They can't vote if their dead and that suits congress just fine. Voter suppression that can't be undone. There will be no action until it effects them directly and then watch them shove the NRA to the curb.
I know this is cynical but the older I get the uglier the country looks. Nothing, anymore, seems to be divorced from politics and hatred of the masses.
If you disagree please do so without snark, it just gets old.

Gun control is a losing proposition for Democrats. It is literally that simple.

(13,259 posts)A huge undeniable atrocity involving a large number of white children. Yet it has been buried under some sort of pro-gun mass hypnosis. Any analysis of what's going on has to include this.
It almost seems as if, if you are killed by a gun, you are automatically an acceptable victim. There really is an amazing form of thought-control happening. It's a religion. The religion of the gun. The gun is all knowing. If a gun kills you, it is your fault. The gun knows who should be killed and who should stay alive.
This is the religion we have accepted in the United States of America.

Disgusted is becoming a way of life, I'm glad I am coming to the end of my life, don't get me wrong, I am not dying but I am getting old. I feel sorry for the young people.
