Protesters Plan 'Take Down' Confederate Flag Rally in Columbia, South Carolina
Protesters plan to meet in the capital to call for "legislative changes" to remove the Confederate Flag from South Carolina's state house grounds, according to the rally's Facebook page, which had over 4,200 likes as of Saturday afternoon.
"Silence equals violence," a post on the Facebook page said. "Now is the time to do the right thing by speaking out and demanding that our State House Grounds be free of symbols of racial violence and injustice."
Protesters do not plan on taking the Confederate flag down themselves at the event, administrators wrote on the page.
