I do hope the escaped prisoners in NY are caught

But if I lived in rural New York, I would insist on the police having a search warrant if they wanted to search my home or my car.

These random searches of cars and homes, lockdowns are unnerving.

I don't give up my civil liberties just because the state corrections system is incompetent.

3. A few years ago

Someone shot and killed a neighbor lady about 1/4 mile down the road, they started a massive search of the area trying to find the man, this is a ranching/farming area and there are numerous outbuildings. In the interests of safety they went farm to farm building to building. I am not the least bit interested in giving up any of my or anyone else's rights but I have no argument at all with them searching til they find the killers...Much rather cooperate then have them hiding in my barn,storage shed or any other place here.. IMHO there are times to stand up for the rights and a time to be a little more circumspect in exercising those "rights".
