All cultues have done terrible thingss in the past.

We condemn ISIS because most Americans have grown beyound that way of thinking. Those Americans who do that today are monsters and criminals.

As a culture we have along way to go. But we have come far enough to label what ISIS does as a monstrous war crime.

Yeah horrific, disgusting, sensless, hateful race-based crimes happened in America and happen still, however there can be no argument that race relations have improved in the US though there is a long long way to go. No comparison can be drawn between the Islamic State and the US. The essence of the Islamic State is to regress back in time, to eliminate the rights that heroic people like MLK fought and died for.

vicious bloody history of our own with behavior that does continue here and there to this day. It wasn't all that long ago that a black man was dragged behind a pickup truck. IMO it's good for us to be reminded.
