O’Reilly on Charleston: Conservative Rhetoric Not to Blame, Liberal Rhetoric ‘More Hateful’

Bill O’Reilly tonight went through a few Charleston responses he found to be “dubious” at best and outrageous at worst. He scolded people “trying to exploit the situation” to push their own views on race and guns.

He scolded Hillary Clinton for taking a swipe at Donald Trump in talking about Charleston, and then squared solely on “race hustlers.”

One of those was Marc Lamont Hill, who used to go toe-to-toe with O’Reilly, who said white supremacy is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. O’Reilly mocked the idea and said “that kind of lunacy makes a mockery out of serious people trying to bridge the gap of understanding” between races.

As for the suggestion that conservative rhetoric may have been an influence on the gunman, mentioned by WaPo‘s Eugene Robinson, O’Reilly said it’s ridiculous and added, “Never mind that far-left rhetoric [is] far more hateful these days than what the hard right puts out.”
