A Flag to oppose racism...



This is the Fort Sumter flag as it flew in 1861. The original is battle torn though still on display by the National Park Service. It was used during the war to raise money to support the war effort. After the war, the commander of the fort at the time of the attack raised this flag over the damaged Fort Sumpter.

The quote below was given that day:

"Terrible in battle, may it be beneficent in peace [and] as long as the sun endures, or the stars, may it wave over a nation neither enslaved nor enslaving.... We lift up our banner, and dedicate it to peace, Union, and liberty, now and forevermore."

Id'd like to see this flag flown across the country wherever the Confederate battle flag appears...
