do you really think that if it were illegal to carry a gun into that church the shooter would have obeyed it and not do what he did?

I heard they pride themselves as being open to visitors to see the historical church.
I don't see them putting in metal detectors and security guards.

It's too bad reality has necessitated that restriction but it's worse to put everyone in the church at grave risk in case
a crazy racists shows up with murder on his mind.

Just because guns are allowed doesnt mean the church has to allow them. In church in SC can ban weapons if they want to

"You may not carry a firearm on school premises (including day care and preschool facilities), in law enforcement offices or facilities, in court facilities, at polling places on election days, in churches or other religious sanctuaries, or in hospitals or medical facilities." (S.C. Code Ann.§ 23-31-215.)

We already have way too many guns in this nation. A gun law would not have restrained this young man. He was determined to kill.

and steel cars.

I guess that means those should e legal since making theft illegal does not stop them.

The same argument could be made about rape and other forms of crime. People are going to do them anyway, so why make them illegal.

Your argument does not make sense.
