So I've not been around. My inbox is a little full....and if I don't get back to you, personally, it's because I am post-operative, tired, and drugged out. I'm also a wee bit depressed about my diminished sight, which is permanent.

But I have my eyes, and although my condition is serious, the POSUCS made sure I have care for it, at a cheap price. Sure, I have to get on the phone and negotiate with muppets who think they can deny me services and generally fuck with me, but I enjoy the challenge.

To all who inquired----I am getting better. I return to the fight undiminished, and unbroken.

On November 8th, 2016, I will be doing what I have done every single election since I was 18....I will be fighting at the booths for franchise for those who thought they had no voice. Between now and then, I will fight for the Democratic nominee.

Today I mourn the dead in Charleston....and I wish I could write something eloquent to honor them, but there are sometimes no words.

Edited to add----I cannot believe that we have lost JeffR, xchrom, and Jackpine Radical. I wish I had something to say that truly honored them, but I can only express my deepest sorrow and utter shock.

Keep your chin up, my uncle only has 10% of his eyesight now but will go to Germany to try out a procedure they won't do here in the States. There is always hope for your eyes. IMO, this is the right time to be born into the world. Modern science always come up with things that would have been miracles just 10 years ago.

17. I used to be able to write on the screen of my old phone to text.

I'd just draw the letter with my finger and it usually got it right if I didn't try to rush too much. The old phone couldn't do much--talk, text, take pictures. 'Take pictures' finally died so I had to kiss the old sport goodbye.

I don't have that on my new phone--I guess there's some app I can download but I am leery about doing too much of that. I've been enjoying a lot of hilarity with the texting, too--between my fat fingers and that auto correct, I've sent a few completely WTF texts! Fortunately, I've done most of my texting to the youth of the family, and they get what happened but they find some of my blunders funny nonetheless.

Eye surgery is scary -- I had a detached retina 2 1/2 years ago and thought the sight in that eye would never return, but it did. The POSUCS did a fine job for you.
