Had this dog attacked the officer, or attempted to attack the officer, he may have been justified in shooting him. However, Miller was restrained on a leash! The leash was attached to a runner which was strung up between two trees in the Muzzis backyard.
The investigating officer told Muzzi that he had to shoot their dog because the animal came after him, and the officer had no choice."

Paid vacation as a punishment for incompetence. I definitely have the wrong job.

(5,946 posts)Police shot a dog when it read the address wrong and shot a pet - got away with it too, the people are rich and pissed, this will not end well for the cop.

(16,111 posts)But there really is no explanation except that they have reached the point when they seem to believe that their job is simply to kill anything that comes near them. Serve and protect has been usurped by "do whatever you please with no consequences".
