Police exert an outsized influence on the state of race relations in the US.

They need to get a fucking hold on themselves and lead the way or GTFO of the way.

Police represent authority. When they beat on, abuse, frighten, manhandle and murder black people, there is -of course- protests and kickback as a result. But unfortunately this then is mis-used as further evidence of kicking back against "authority" spurring more and more and more irrational hatred, fear, loathing, disgust.

Of fuck this is so horrible, I don't even know what I am writing.

But I FEEL like the U.S. needs to tackle the issue of its enormously fucked up relationship between the people and the police before it can begin to improve things.
