Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg isn't just Internet famous: the liberal justice is America's most popular Supreme Court judge, a new poll finds.
The findings were part of larger national survey done by the liberal-leaning polling organization, Public Policy Polling. In the poll, participants were asked how they viewed each of the justices individually, favorably or unfavorably. They were also asked to pick their favorite and least favorite among the nine justices.
Ginsburg ranked first among the justices in the "favorite" category. When asked who was their least favorite Supreme Court judge, more Americans said Justice Clarence Thomas, the oft-silent conservative, than any other justice.
Breaking respondents down by party suggests that those results are driven by ideology. Although Thomas was the least favorite overall, 21 percent of Republicans picked him as their favorite, making him the top GOP choice. A quarter of Republicans also said Ginsburg was their least favorite -- more than double the next most unpopular justice among Republicans, Justice Elena Kagan.

As part of a larger national poll, PPP surveyed registered voters on their
opinions of the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS). When asked which of the
nine Supreme Court justices they disliked the most 28% of Democrats chose Clarence
Thomas while 25% of Republicans chose Ruth Bader Ginsburg. These numbers reversed
when each party claimed their favorite justice with 31% of Democrats favoring Ginsburg
and 21% of Republicans selecting Thomas.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Clarence Thomas are the Supreme Court member Americans
have the strongest feelings about, said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling.
Ginsburg is the most popular overall despite being the most unpopular with
Republicans, and Thomas is the least popular overall despite being the most popular with
Republicans.
