(17,111 posts)I think I am doing well. I go see the doctor tomorrow for a checkup. Hopefully, he agrees with me.

(22,271 posts)(That's a reference to an old Peter Sellers movie called, "The Party." I pick them off of the tomatoes and put them in the bird feeder. They're not there for long.

(11,366 posts)Every fall, I have an orb weaver who helps "decorate" the front door for Halloween. We use the side porch door and not the front door, so I just leave her (and all the ones weaving webs are "shes" - males don't do that elaborate stuff) because she kills the other bugs I don't like.
I usually put a note in when I order to go to the side porch, but I guess the driver doesn't always see that. I've heard some screams a time or two from weary drivers who didn't see the note. Once, I even had a shirt on with a cobweb on it (although, that was from the 1986 UT Vols combo of Reggie Cob and Chuck Webb and not a "spider" shirt) so it really freaked out the driver. She must have thought I was some kind of crazy spider lady.
In any case, I have an 8 year old daughter who always names the spider, Charlotte, for obvious reasons.

(60,010 posts)And we leave them be.
Sadly, the termite guy came to inspect and killed it before I could say anything to him.
Now I tell him every time to NOT harm the spiders, and I found out that I am now referred to as .......the spider lady.

(12,693 posts)Amazing animals, they build those huge webs and a new one every evening. Fascinating to watch them work. Completely harmless to humans, but when they build a web by the porch light, it's like a solar-powered bug zapper.

(10,044 posts)What'd you do, release that lizard and tell the kitty to "Knock Yourself Out"?

Apparently, the kitteh was unaware of the lizard. When she saw it, she proceeded to have a complete fit.

(24,007 posts)That is downright hysterical, especially with the sound. Kittens are so damn funny.

(2,943 posts)The family cat took an interest to the new found green toy at the time. The interest turned into OK, I am confused (the cat of course) we can be friends, can't we sort of, in a way we are OK, in a way I think. Well forget that notion, but... (You get the idea)
A neighbor kid released it outside because he did not know how to take care of the animal. It turned out, he was feeding it iceberg lettuce which is a big no-no. The lizard had lizard zits and needed nutrition i.e. a better diet was prescribed which we provided...
Back to the cat and the lizard...
The iguana was introduced to the household. The cat thought this green thing to be an interesting subject. The iguana knock the cat ten feet across the room with its tail. From that point on, it was up to me to deal with the lizard when the lizard was on the kitty condo. The cat had a lot of respect for the lizard, it was amazing...

I wonder what the second lizard thought. Haha

I miss my friend.

(17,301 posts)I always catch them and put them outside. I never kill them. That's probably why I have so many webs on my porches. I must handle at least 3 spiders a week and I have never been bitten. I know some folks have gotten it from the brown recluse but I don't think I've ever seen a brown recluse spider. Maybe that's why they have that name, they're very reclusive?
