were likely safer than the government's as a whole. We have heard about two major data breeches from what can only be presumed to be government servers, as in the servers that were supposed to be way, way, safer than her server in her house. People who stated that her server might actually be safer than a standard government server were ridiculed. Turns out we might well have been right. Fancy that.

(9,086 posts)It's very unlikely that an email server in Hillary's compound would be more secure than the president's or secretary of state.
It's possible it was stolen from her garage or whatever.
Actually it was definitely stolen because it was the property of the people, and Hillary stole it for herself by deleting a bunch of it.

(29,257 posts)Hillary was a government servant.
She should not have been hosting work emails on her own home server for a whole slew of reasons, not the least which being issues of accountability and transparency.

(31,493 posts)There are 65535 ports, TCP and UDP. We used to hack into Chinese servers back in the mid 90's. It was easy because they used Telnet which is insecure. We'd put a port sniffer on it and it would pick up the l/p of whoever used it. After we'd get on the server we would use cross scripting hacks from shell flaws to get root. I know it is much more sophisticated now but the point is that a server needs to have 24/7 admins monitoring everything. If Hillary had that then she was safe but my bet is that she didn't. IMO this is the reason many break-ins are occurring. Cheap ass corporations hiring lazy or inept admins or not running 24/7 monitoring.

(24,853 posts)If it wasn't secure and got hacked, and Hillary Clinton IS elected President of the United States; I'm thinking we're going to have the Chief Executive who's more open to blackmail than any in history.
Not good for US, or The USA.
