An Eastern Orthodox church established centuries ago in Kodiak was vandalized Wednesday, with holy and historic items damaged and desecrated. One man, whose motives remain unknown, was arrested.

1. I hate wanton vandalism and destruction of anything

especially our links to the past. I think it should be considered that Mr. Garcia is deranged, I hope not permanently. We had a number of church arsons in our area several years ago. The man who burned the churches said he was doing it for the pope. None of the churches were Catholic and neither was the arsonist. I don't remember what happened to him- I hope he received care.
