I didn't follow the last set of votes but I was a little taken back to see that cat in the finals. I've tried like hell to wrap my brain around the idea that this represents spring, but to each his/her own I guess. Who am I to question it.

...whatever Spring has meant to each individual photographer.

Spring this year for a lot of people could have meant blowing snow and six-foot drifts, considering how bad the weather was in most of the East through much of the season. April was miserable for many. Floods, even. And that's just in the States.

Anyhow, the Final is decided by the votes of DUers, so there you have it.

Considered it before I made my comments, which stated that I couldn't wrap by brain around cats and spring. I also stated my resignation and reluctant acceptance that someone felt differently about it than I do.

As for the votes of DUers, it addresses the point I made in the photography group about voting. And this final voting addresses my other point. Voting for your own photo. Never understood that.

renewal, regrowth.

The phenological or ecological definition of spring relates to biological indicators; the blossoming of a range of plant species, and the activities of animals, or the special smell of soil that has reached the temperature for micro flora to flourish.

Spring is seen as a time of growth, renewal, of new life (both plant and animal) being born.

And finally, for an overload of spring kitty...

You know, something that I hadn't considered, is that on that particular day with 'ol green eyes it really felt like Spring to you. If so, I get that.
