Would Economic Justice Help the Judicial System?

Sadly, I'm not sure. Convicted criminals and arrested detainees are so outside of the system. So many are impoverished. Would higher wages help? Or are these people typically jobless. Would higher wages mean a better chance at making bail? Or is bail set impossibly high? Would economic justice provide more judges and public defenders? Or would there be the assumption the people with higher wages can afford good lawyers? Would economic justice reduce sentences or encourage alternative sentencing? Is a leg cuff cheaper than a jail cell?

What do you think?

Poor people are disproportionately affected by the judicial system. Is pulling them out of poverty sufficient?

Being Black with a lot of money or Black and middle class with some money will not keep you out of jail. You might have a better chance of making bail but then "they" would just raise the price of the bail. This is just my opinion but having a grand daughter who is Black, I have experienced racism on her behalf in a personal way and believe me, she has plenty of money because grandma gives it to her.

Economics does have disproportionate and negative influence on the poor, but what we have is a problem with justice in America that econmic justice will not fix.
