If the SCOTUS rolls back ACA subsidies

It looks like the GOP backup "plan" could be to extend the subsidies until 2017 (covieniently past the 2016 election cycle).
My guess is they would pass this extension, send it to the President to sign, and when he doesn't they will hit the corporate media bandwagon blaming Obamacare, him, and the Democratic Party for the 6.4 million losing their insurance.

3. I still believe SC will uphold subsidies, but why would Obama veto an extension if I'm wrong?

I get a short-term extension is not the preference, but why would Obama throw 6.4 million into the uninsured if an extension were the only option? If he signed it, it would throw the ball back into the GOP's court.

I hope it doesn't come to that, because we shouldn't be playing with people's health insurance. It's bad enough we had to compromise to begin with, but pulling the subsidies, and an extension, would be cruel.

4. he might veto it because it comes with a lot of other unacceptable demands.

There is a bill being prepared by the gop proposing to do that. it also removes the single mandate requirement, applied to all states not just those affected by the rollback of subsidies. Essentially it dismantles the ACA.

6. OK, I get it. That would be a little easier for Obama to pin on GOP, but I get what you are saying.

It really ticks me off when stuff is added to an otherwise good bill. It makes it difficult to determine how a Congressperson is voting.
