Lincoln Chafee More Unknown to Americans than Rhode Island
PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (The Nil Admirari): Former Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee confirmed he will run for president as a Democrat and officially announce his decision this evening. A TNA poll conducted earlier in the week found a vast majority of Americans had no idea who Lincoln Chafee was and had never heard of Rhode Island.

"I am not worried by the complete absence of support and money at home or across the country. I am excited to discuss tough issues with the other Democratic presidential candidates who actually know what the hell they are doing," said Chafee.

which is more than a certain frontrunner can say.
As one of Robert C. Byrd's "Immortal 23" in the Senate who made the right call on that disaster, he at least gets my consideration.

(39,171 posts)3. He was my governor for four years - mediocre is the kind description of his performance
he won office as an independent, switched parties and decided to forgo a second term due to abysmal public polling. His announcement was met here with a mixture of bafflement and derision.
We can do much better.

and nothing about Mr. Chafee.
