"I like Marco Rubio."

This came after the lady waiting with me for the Cost Cutters to open had just told me that all of Congress needs to be changed and that they are all corrupt. She wasn't too crazy about the presidential candidates either. Said she couldn't stand Jeb because he's a liar and a cheat, doesn't care for Huckabee or Cruz or Santorum, or any of the other R candidates. Can't stand Hillary and has never heard of Sanders. Beyond Hillary, she didn't know much about Dem candidates.

But she likes Rubio. Told me that she thought "he is the next JFK." When I suggested that nothing that Rubio says sounds like anything JFK would be proposing, she couldn't see it. Told her that I thought Rubio isn't consistent on much that he says and changes positions frequently, she couldn't see it. When asked what about Rubio was so appealing to her, she likes his stance on immigration. I pointed out that he voted against this own immigration bill and that seemed pretty inconsistent to me. She just stared at me blankly and the mouthed something about he's said the same thing about immigration all along. I told her saying and doing are two different things. In the meantime, I told her that I was going to try to get to the next Sanders meeting when he's in the area and that he sounds more like JFK than Rubio ever will.

Then Cost Cutters opened and we parted ways. And I'm still shaking my head at the thought that I had just met an actual Rubio supporter for the first time. Heh.

The only thing they have in common is their youth and attractive wives.

He's not, but some people find him attractive. Just like people wanting to have a beer with Shrub. Has nothing to do with their ability to lead or where they stand on the issues.
