(17,064 posts)It's making a bee line for Cabo San Lucas. It seems like they usually drift a bit west of the projected track though. Cabo and Baja got hit pretty hard last year.

Even though I know you're talking about Blanca, I think the above graphic tells enough of a story to cover both storms.
A better possibility is that whatever remnants there are of Blanca will go over Mexico, and maybe into Texas, but more likely just dissipate, without much influence even on the Gulf.
Also, as we have seen firsthand what happens when a drought is ended by torrential rains, you might not be wishing for a hurricane...

(154,021 posts)but our weather people today were speaking of some rain in San Diego. I took them with the same everest sized grain of salt as you have. Now I have to go look at my predictive tools.
Chance of rain (40%) by next Wednesday. As I expected. my local news folks are trying to make the drought more tolerable. I prefer to have the facts.
Of course that long range forecast, we do better by throwing darts at a map.

(29,414 posts)I recall you and others mentioning that the next winter will be when you get an easing of your drought. One of the pages on Dr. Masters' blog showed a drought map where the Pacific north west would be (or is) in a severe drought like we just went through.
