Conservatives Try To Attack Sanders/Socialism, Get Their Collective Asses Handed To Them Instead

“Ask Venezuelans How Sanders-Style Socialism Is Working Out for Them” blared the headline of Michelle Malkin’s anti-Bernie Sanders piece at the National Review lat week. It was illustrated with a photo purporting to show the grimy, empty shelves of a Venezuelan supermarket:

That sure is gross. And fake: Little Green Football’s Charles Johnson, having beaten the boss on the last level of the game, ran the image through Google image search and found it is actually from a Walmart in Austin, Texas, and was taken when 2005’s Hurricane Rita led to sold-out bread aisles:

The photo was “dirtied” and English-language signs cropped out, though whether the changes were made by NRO was initially unclear. A weekend’s worth of blame initially fell to Malkin, who used the liberal pushback as reason to demand NRO fix the image:

She is basically made a whole industry for herself out of self delusional pure hate. People that thinks she's a genius are generally not "happy" people. It is hard to imagine people less disgusting to hang around than her crowd.

"Calling out" a Republican lie is trying to shame the shameless. Cuz, frankly, every time a Republican opens his/her mouth, some untruth spills out. No one's asses get handed to them when the people who weren't going to believe them anyway discover that they were indeed being lied to. However, the rightwing faithful who *always* believe will also faithfully believe that those catching and reporting the lies are the ones that are in fact lying. It is an article of Republican faith that if liberals complain or fight back, the Republicans must be "doing something right" or "hitting a nerve." You can't really hand an ass back to someone like that, because either: a) they are oblivious to it; or b) they won't give a damn, because their faithful took the bait and success was achieved, lie by lie.

While refusing to accept the shortages of products are the result of boycotts because the socialist country refuses to buy American Capitalism.

That was actually yesterday.

Also, I didn't crow about Sanders being behind in the polls. It was more of a feel-good post showing that Obama and Hillary polling very high with Democratic caucus-goers in Iowa. This wasn't a head-to-head poll. It was a favorability poll.

Here's what I said before linking the article:

Democratic caucus-goers in Iowa love Obama and Hillary.

These folks will play a huge role in helping to determine the next Prez.

That's it. My post wasn't about Sanders at all. It was more about Hillary and Obama.

I like Sanders very much, but I don't worship the ground he walks on and I'm not going to refuse to post a poll because it might show him behind.

I post facts.

I know that might be tough for you to understand, but you'e just gonna have to deal.

Also, I'm not sure what that post even has to do with this OP.

Your reply to me is actually quite amusing since it's totally irrelevant.

You mad at me, bro?

Like HRC and Obama when the ACA passed:

Sanders and Obama when the ACA passed:

Sanders and Franken:

Warren and Obama:

Another one who doesn't hate Hillary:

That's why they are worth voting for, but those who hate are so far below their level it's pathetic. They respect each other, and not because they're 'in cahoots.' They have a higher calling than GOP cheap shots.

Sanders will support Clinton in the general, but some say they won't vote if HRC wins. Which means they have no respect for their man's principles:

“No matter what I do, I will not be a spoiler,” Sanders said. “I will not play that role in helping to elect some right-wing Republican as President of the United States.”

"Socialist Polaroid"? "Camera Venezuela"? "Chavez Gauze"?

These conservative operatives are incredibly pathetic. But they're smart, cuz they know the low-information voter (i.e. the Republican Base) will believe this kind of stuff, every time.

I mean seriously -- someone feels SO strongly that their political beliefs are correct that they have to DOCTOR UP A PHOTO to prove their point? What kind of cognitive disconnect is required to make stuff up or lie about stuff in order to prove that truth is on one's side? It's so Brietbart.

Mention Scandinavian-style socialism and listen for the crickets. Venezuela's socialism was working pretty damned well for a while there, until the years of constant meddling and undermining, led by the U.S., brought it to such a pass. I wonder how the millions of poor Venezuelans who now have a plot of land and can read feel about all this! As usual, the voice of the powerless is lost in the sea of elite inanity and avarice.

The conservatives need to have a 'come to Jesus' moment about the socialism they support for the MIC and corporations.

Malkin is a one-trick pony, pushing hatred of Democrats, just like her running buddies Rush, Beck, Hannity, etc.

The pinochetist who would replace Maduro would probably outlaw birth control too, and eliminate the safetynet to boot. Since that is what the original did in Chile.

Neocons are very inventive at finding new varieties of poop to throw, when they are in "regime change" mode. I imagine that is why Charles Johnson started factchecking on this stuff.
