gRANDstanding - let's thank Sen.s Udall and Wyden for the Patriot Act defeat

Okay it's not fully defeated but a stand was taken this weekend and none of it would have been possible without Sen. Udall (D- NM) and Sen. Wyden (D- OR). THEY kept the skepticism and pointed criticisms of the Patriot Act alive.

Googling "Wyden Udall Patriot Act" results show articles (14 pages deep) dating back to at least 2011.

So in swoops Rand Paul and the press falls all over themselves praising his stand for Liberty and freedom and....
Rand hasn't had an original idea in his life. Yes he is mentioned from time to time in the googling search mentioned above but just like yesterday he waited until Wyden and Udall did the hard work sticking their necks out to gRANDstand for the cameras.

Senate decorum is probably the best explanation of why Wyden and Udall let him have the limelight. But Senate decorum also made yesterday possible because the Senators from Oregon and New Mexico kept poking the fire and the renewal was not allowed to pass in the dark of night.

Or maybe most of the Senators and Representatives who are Democrats will be in support of positions you support but will also take an opposite position from you from time to time.

Hey, that almost sounds reasonable!

and everyone one of us liked, the other could name a damning vote or stance. There is no one that is without a flaw; you just have to look at their positives too. I believe that they exist to disappoint us.

They then become extremely disappointing to learn these politicians are human and are politicians, which means they are going to compromise with politicians you don't like from time to time.

Obama is a perfect example of this.

She brings real anger out in people because she is a woman and too, women are criticized more by other women for the same behavior in men. But any of our candidates are far better than all of theirs.

"Yes, it is secret from you and me. As Ruth Marcus correctly explained, “This is not secrecy for secrecy’s sake; it’s secrecy for the sake of negotiating advantage. Exposing U.S. bargaining positions or the offers of foreign counterparts to public view before the agreement is completed would undermine the outcome.” But TPP is not secret to Warren. She has read it."

Senator Ron Wyden is happy..

"In Washington state, for example, exports of everything from apples to airplanes have soared 40 percent over four years to total nearly $91 billion in 2014, according to The Seattle Times. About two in five jobs there are now tied to trade.

Small wonder that U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden, a liberal Democrat from neighboring Oregon, has strongly supported fast-track authority."

"But then we have Warren stating with a straight face that handing negotiating authority to Obama would “give Republicans the very tool they need to dismantle Dodd-Frank.”

Huh? Obama swatted down the remark as wild, hypothetical speculation, noting he engaged in a “massive” fight with Wall Street to get the reforms passed. “And then I sign a provision that would unravel it?” he told political writer Matt Bai.

"Warren's amendment split Democrats, with Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) asking senators to vote "no" and suggesting ahead of the vote that Warren was trying to combat a problem that didn't exist.

"We have never lost an investment dispute case and never paid a dime in penalties. Here's our record: 17 cases, 17 victories," Wyden said.

The press will never acknowledge them but WE know who was against the Patriot Act from the get go and who dared speakers against it in DC.

He lost in November. I think Tom Udall of NM is a cousin.
