I'm actually bisexual but when I am with a woman, Jenna's song is exactly how I feel. Besides, it's just too happy and cute! Gay, you might say

(17,997 posts)This is my favorite month. So much pride!
The Chicago Pride parade had over a million people last year. They tried to move it downtown because of that but it's staying in boystown! YAY!

Just love June! The Pride parade in Chicago is the best!

(53,979 posts)It can get so damn hot and we are old now. LOL!
ETA: My fave pride parade is Atlanta!
marym625
(17,997 posts)You should check out Chicago..I'm old. I still go
Behind the Aegis
(53,979 posts)I then realized you were talking about Atlanta. It has been a LONG time, because it used to be in June! I'd love to go to Chicago's parade. I really want to go to an international one, except maybe Israel's because my husband has a thing for Jewish dudes....I could lose him! LOL! Actually, Israel, the UK, Australia, Italy, and one I can't think of right now are all the places I'd like to go during pride.

marym625
(17,997 posts)It was actually a series on HBO. I think it is 6 hours in total
Definitely worth watching
lovemydog
(11,833 posts)will check it out. The play blew my mind.
marym625
(17,997 posts)Let me know how you think the two compare.
Com cast has it for free. At least they did a few months ago

(11,833 posts)in NYC. It blew my mind. I just looked him up on wiki and learned that he co-wrote the screenplay for Munich and wrote the screenplay for Lincoln - two great movies.
marym625
(17,997 posts)I still have to see Lincoln
lovemydog
(11,833 posts)It's so well-written!

(11,833 posts)with some friends. I really wish movies like Lincoln, Malcolm X, Selma, historical biographies of such great importance and great documentaries and great stuff like Angels in America were available across every platform and stream for free. I anyone from any companies like Amazon or Netflix or any distribution companies are reading here, please consider finding a way to make this happen. We all benefit greatly from learning history, especially when it's done in a very entertaining manner.
marym625
(17,997 posts)That has quite a few great documentaries. It's http://freedocumentaries.org/ But I don't think they have movies, unfortunately
lovemydog
(11,833 posts)There's also lots of great stuff these days on youtube.
marym625
(17,997 posts)Click on it, only to get a commercial for some illegal site that says it's free but wants your credit card information.
But yes, especially with the documentaries. YouTube has a ton of stuff. Best part, I think, is the archived news reports and speeches. It's really cool to be able to hear FDR giving a radio address. Things like that
lovemydog
(11,833 posts)I especially enjoy seeing speeches & interviews of people I admire like Huey Long, Angela Davis, Cesar Chavez, pro-labor people who made activism their lives. Also, so much great music stuff. When someone like B.B. King or Jean Ritchie passes away, you can go and see really cool interviews & footage of them.
marym625
(17,997 posts)You couldn't do that before YouTube. At least nowhere near as easily

(17,997 posts)I appreciate that. I used to be an admin on a couple LGBT Facebook pages. Those two things went over pretty well.
I don't know if you listen to the song but I don't know how anyone can and not smile.
Thanks again
