After Martin O'Malley makes his announcement tomorrow, we will have three great candidates for President.
I pledge to support whichever Democrat is nominated, no doubt.
I love Martin O'Malley and still consider him to be my Governor, though he is my recent past Governor. He did a remarkable job under difficult circumstances. He is responsible for the death of the death penalty in Maryland, with the help of activists and other good Democrats. Equal Marriage happened under his leadership, with his support. He understands the value of education, both pre-college and making higher education an affordable pursuit. He is richly progressive, but not averse to the necessity of compromise. He is married to Judge Kate O'Malley, and she is nothing less than fabulous. He is the father of two boys and two girls. The O'Malley family should probably be the sample photo on all the picture frames available for sale. I also love his music and his bare arms when he is stroking the guitar. Ahem - sorry to digress. He is currently running 2nd in my personal presidential poll. That could change.
I Love Bernie Sanders. He is brilliant, and messy and he thinks like I do. I believe the people will discover him and many will be shocked to discover how how aligned they are with a happy Socialist. There is a change a-simmering in this nation, working on a slow boil. Bernie may well be the one to build on that. I just ordered two t-shirts and two bumper stickers from his campaign website. I particularly like the "Honk for a Revolution" bumper sticker, it resonates. He is my 1st choice. Just now, I was looking for his website to see that bumper sticker, and in my Google search I found out he wrote a sexually explicit, free thought essay back in 1972. That will be the next nonsense that his opponents will try to use against him. That this is on ABC news, just tells me that Bernie Sanders instills fear in someone, particularly those whose name is four letters and begins with K and ends in och.
I admire Hillary Clinton. She has my respect and deserves my respect. She runs 3rd in my personal polling, that is based on her traveling to the right of the progressive highway. That could change, it's still early. If supporting her is essential to keeping a Republican clown out of the White House, I will leave the candidate that I love and support Hillary Clinton. I don't think she'll need me to win the nomination, at least that's how it looks today.
I will happily and actively support the Democratic nominee in the General Election of 2016. It is wonderful to have some great candidates to choose from.
