Threatening calls to lawmakers on death penalty repeal not of 'criminal nature,' patrol says
LINCOLN A spokeswoman for the Nebraska State Patrol said Thursday five threatening calls to three state senators about the death penalty dont rise to a criminal nature at this time.
Spokeswoman Deb Collins said the patrol is still investigating and working to identify and contact the callers.
The World-Herald listened to one of the calls, left on a senators answering machine early Tuesday. On the message, a female caller said she wished every member of your family was murdered by a mass murderer and that your females are raped and left for dead so the senator would understand peoples support for the death penalty.

Another senator showed a reporter Tuesday a Facebook message expressing hope that Nikko Jenkins, who was convicted of four murders in Omaha, could get out and have a sleepover at the female senators home.
