Alan Grayson on his wife: 'Gold diggers gotta dig'

The legal battle between Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) and his estranged wife Lolita has reportedly hit a snag.

The couple agreed to the annulment of their 25-year marriage last month, according to the Orlando Sentinel, but matters appear to have been complicated by other considerations in court.

“I’ll sum it up for you. Gold diggers gotta dig. That’s all I gotta say,” the Florida Democrat told Orlando’s ABC affiliate WFTV on Monday. “We had an agreement. She’s trying to renege.”

The whole thing sounds like a gigantic mess.

And what does that say about a man that would stay married to a "gold digger" for 25 years? Especially considering he's one of the richest men in Congress?

Easily duped with sex? A willing purchaser of private, domesticated prostitution services?

He could have just said, "no comment" but his entire political career has been built on his sense of bombast. Perhaps he is not the truth-to-power speaking crusader he portrayed himself to be but rather a headline seeking egotist.

7. To be fair, most of us will cop to "easily duped with sex".

Not me, though. That's why I'm living the life of a monk right now.

Not that he cares, I'm sure. But still. That's the kind of sexist trope I'd expect to hear Paul Elam say...not Alan Grayson.
